Please join Lynn for another “Uncommon Conversation” this Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 3pm EST

July 15th, 2008

This Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 3pm EST (2pm CST) I’ll be interviewing Brian Kurth who is the CEO of VocationVacations (where I’ve been a Coach for the past 3 years).  Vocation Vacations is a place where you can go and “test drive” your dream job.  Brian’s new book, “Test-Drive Your Dream Job” gives great examples of what it’s like to be a Vocationer and some of the dream job vacations people have tried out.

Each Vocationer is assigned a Coach to talk with before they go on their VV and after they go on their VV.  I’ve never grown tired of  talking/coaching people who have the guts to test-drive their dream job.  I have a passion for helping others to be able to do their passion.

Come and join this call and jump into the frey.  We’ll interact with Brian. I encourage you to go look at the VocationVacations website and explore the current dream jobs offered. Is there a VV offered that you or a client of yours might like to explore? Ask questions about it then.  Is there a dream job that is not on there that you’d like to see?  What do YOU think about the idea of test driving a dream job?

Please go to www.coachingcommons.org and click on the “Uncommon Conversations” tab.  Just below that tab you’ll see a big ole padlock on the right hand side.  Scroll down until you find the slot to sign-up for the “Book It! words for the soul” show for this Thursday.  Then you’ll receive a phone number to call in on.  Again, we only use the information of you signing in to keep track of how many callers are on the calls.  This call will be “live” on Thursday and then available to download as a podcast afterwards.

For more info, please scroll below.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at lynnkindler@sacredpathcoaching.com .

Happy Vocationing!

Fear of the Pink Slip….and other games we play!

May 3rd, 2008

You may have heard the definition of Fear. That Fear is actually an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real.  For this recovering panic attack sufferer, FEAR can feel really real sometimes, especially when everyone around us, our friends, our family, our co-workers, our employers, the media, etc. is feeling their own kind of fear as well.  It is at times like this that it is most important for us to step back from our world of chaos, take a deep breath and make a decision to be mindful about our thoughts and feelings.  We don’t have to be at their whim and mercy. Shifting and Moving with the Changes

April 22nd, 2008

Have you ever found yourself in the place of opportunities and changes all of a sudden and realized that you were not the great risk taker that you once thought you were?  Do you have a daily regime of meditation and connecting with your higher source to help light your path?  Do you ever wish as hard as you can on twilight’s first star for something very special to happen in your life but then what it happens, you’re not sure what to do next? The Acholi Initiative

April 14th, 2008

This Saturday was thoroughly wonderful in Austin Texas.  Not only was the weather beautiful (sunny and in the low seventies) but the Sixth Annual ACT Women & Girls Conference took place at St. Edward’s University with entertainers such as the incomparable Sara Hickman and the make-you-dance-in-the-aisles Djembabes.  The Keynote Speakers were environmentalist Robin Rather (looks just like her dad) and poet Jan Epton Seale along with her son editor, author and film maker Avrel Seale.  A good time was had by all.  The reason for the Conference is for the spiritual transformation of Women & Girls.  Another reason that I want to bring to light is one of the important service projects that ACT Women supports.  The following may be disturbing for some, so please be prepared. AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Matthew Emmens and Beth Kephart co-authors of “Zenobia”

April 3rd, 2008

I love this book, “Zenobia”.

The jacket of the book says, “This unusual book will move readers to take a fresh and fearless look at their own organizations and to remember that leadership is not determined by title or position. Rather, as the want ad Moira answers puts it, “Creative persistence a prerequisite. A desire for the extraordinary a must”. Read the rest of this entry »
