Asking me to stretch outta my comfort zone is hilarious since I’ve spent the last decade trying to pull together some semblance of a comfort zone via scraps of awareness here and recognizing my defaults there. What I’ve come to realize is that coloring my life way out of the lines—was my comfort zone. And so now that I’ve found some periods of time which have allowed me to feel a modicum of peace, I’m asking myself to s t r e t c h out of this patchwork comfort zone. The trick is for me to be able to stretch out and simultaneously maintain the peace. (more…)
Food has been a very important part of my life since the embryo that was me could partake of it! Food has defined my moods (good, bad, sad, and happy); my surroundings (aromatic, smelly, plush, and sparse), and my events (holidays, celebrations, and somber occasions). Because food has been such a huge part of my life, I shouldn’t be surprised that my dreams would choose to use food as a metaphor to enable me to see things in a different way. (more…)
